Netflix Frequent Renter Throttling

You have probably read about the tactics of Netflix to "Throttle" frequent renters by now. If you haven't, it has been discovered that Netflix slows down the turnaround time for DVDs for customers that watch a certain number of movies. Well, I believe that I have been throttled. It takes on average 2 days longer for them to receive and send me out a new movie. Plus, recently about 20% of the movies I've received have been damaged or otherwise unwatchable due to scratches or big gouges in the disc. I'm not going to quit yet, but this is definitely a disturbing trend. Does this happen to anyone else?

My parents told me that they often get a lot of bad DVD's. It doesn't happen to me very often. If the movie skips or has some other trouble, I can usually take out the disc, wipe it clean and start it up again without problems.

I haven't noticed the throttling you described. Is this something other people have complained about?

Yeah, it's pretty well documented on the web. An example is 2 days ago I sent back 3 DVDs, one was a new release. The new release got processed yesterday, and the other two got processed today. One of the recent DVDs I've gotten had a huge chip taken out of the side and it was playable until the last 1/4 of the disc. So annoying!
